Custom print making
All the limited-edition photographs shown on this site are custom printed. The sizes listed for each image are the sizes currently available. The size refers to the photograph size. Matting and framing add to the total area of your image. For example, a 13 1/3" x 20" image will be roughly 20" x 27" when matted and framed.
The height of Mike's horizontal prints and the width of his vertical ones are usually shorter and narrower, respectively, than traditional photographic print sizes. For example, instead of printing an 11" x 14" image, he often prints a 9 1/4" x 14" one. This represents what Mike actually sees when photographing and--in his judgement--makes for a less boxy and more dynamic image.
Matting and framing
You are encouraged to have your print framed by us to ensure the highest quality. All mats used are acid-free, and all frames are made of the finest wood and metal. Mats and frames are selected to compliment each other and the image. If you desire customized matting and framing, please note this when you order or simply purchase a print and have it matted and framed yourself.
Two kinds of glass are available for your limited-edition print: normal presentation glass and anti-reflective. The latter is best for areas where natural and artificial light might cause glare on the glass' surface.
Each print is only available in limited editions of 250, 900 or 1,500. Once these are sold, the image will never be printed as a photograph again.
